We have hunger and thirst for Justice : Paralegalism activists
World day of Social Justice was celebrated by community leaders and Paralegalism activist of Far west Nepal today. A public meeting was organized in Dhangadhi with a slogan “ We have hunger and thirst for Justice”.
Addressing the meeting President of Campaign for Promotion of Community Paralegalism (CPCPN) Mr Prabhakar Bagchand said, social development and social justice are indispensable for the achievement and maintenance of peace and security within and among nations. We need to aspire to live in a world where there is Justice. I think Paralegals have the hunger and thirst for Justice , they can rightly bring a change in the society through law. Knowledge of law and means to use it , makes citizens active and responsible. Paralegalism is about creating a society where law makes life simple for people.
On the occasion Mr Bagchand made public the CPCPN strategy of one Ward , one Paralegal.
Ms. Rama Bhattarai Media entrepreneur and Paralegalism activist said , we will train more women as paralegals in the days to come. We need support of public and private sector in our pursuit she said.
Vice chair of CPCPN Mr. Amrit B.C said , social change is about change in our thinking . Paralegal can be catalyst in bringing about this change.
Youth leader and Paralegalism activist Dinesh Nepali said , social Justice today can not be seen in isolation , it is inter-connected with environmental Justice as well.
The meeting was also addressed by psycho-social counselor Mr Rajkumar Jairu , Ms. Sarala Bista and Ms. Nirmala Joshi. The public meeting was attended by community leaders, paralegalism activists, students and general public.
